What fires me up about photography isn’t just one genre —it’s that an image tells our stories and makes us feel seen.
The best photography doesn’t feel posed– it’s the real moments that we collect. Photographs serve as visual transportation back in time to our most sacred memories.
My journey kicked off when a family friend—a photographer with work in the Smithsonian—took my photo on a film camera. Debra, whom I called Abracadabra at the age of 4, was pure magic to me. Her process of making my photograph showed me that I mattered. The black-and-white framed image has been on display in every bedroom I've ever lived in.
I have always loved capturing life and the world around me. Photography is what allows me to capture time before it slips away, bottling it up for life’s rainy days. I played with disposables growing up, digital point-and-shoots as a teen, and my old faithful Sony DSLRs starting in college. In the beginning, I photographed everything—sunsets, travel, sports, friends, family, and animals (my soul dog Koda was a total natural… she loved the camera!).
After my college experience as the captain of a Division I lacrosse team, with a major in sociology, I entered my adult life in the middle of an existential crisis. Who was I, and why did I love so many things?
I stepped out into my adult life with a promise to myself– I would travel the world, live in beautiful places, and photograph all walks of life. As a twentysomething, I said yes to every gig, including the local newspaper in Vail, Colorado. It wasn’t until I reported on the deadliest fire in modern history in Lahaina, Maui– the one in which I lost my home but escaped with my life– that I truly understood the depth of my gratitude. I rose from the ashes and kept my camera close—photography, storytelling, and adventure were all there to help me keep moving forward.
Adventure is in my blood. I’ve helicopter-skied, hiked insane mountains, climbed wild roads on my bike, surfed beautiful waves, and run a marathon in under four hours… It’s inevitable that I would photograph not only professional athletes, marketing campaigns for outdoor brands, elopements, and families but also massive events like Outside Festival and The GoPro Mountain Games.
As a photographer, I follow my arrow of creativity. I capture the full spectrum of love, life experiences, and joy. From surprise proposals to family sessions and commercial photography, I tell stories of everyday people.
What I love is tapping into the soul and the connection I experience through my camera lens. By seeing and honoring the beauty in diversity, I hope to create a space of safety, true love, and acceptance.
I could tell you even more about all the past lives I’ve lived, but you know what matters most?
When we work together, you aren’t just another client to me. Your love story, family adventure, or next campaign matters. That instant of connection when the shutter clicks, becoming a photograph, is what we carry with us throughout our days.
